Another bronze for Vietnam at Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship
VOV.VN - The national shooting team have added another bronze medal at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2026, currently underway in India, after finishing third in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol team event.
The Vietnamese team, comprising Ha Minh Thanh, Vu Tien Nam and Tran Cong Hieu, posted a combined score of 1,707 points to take third place in the event on February 11. Kazakhstan topped the standings with 1,737 points, while hosts India finished second with 1,708 points.
In the individual competition, Vietnamese shooters did not reach the podium. Tran Cong Hieu failed to advance to the final. Ha Minh Thanh produced the strongest showing, finishing fourth in the final with 16 points, while Vu Tien Nam placed seventh with 5 points.
The Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2026 opened on February 4 and will run until February 14. Vietnam sent 14 shooters to compete in both pistol and rifle events.
So far, the Vietnamese team has collected six medals: one gold, two silver and three bronze.
