Shooting delivered Vietnam’s first gold of the day. Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang opened the medal tally after defeating the Thai pair Sastwej Chanittha and Tortungpanich Napis in the mixed team 10m air rifle final.

In canoeing, Nguyen Thi Huong, Ma Thi Thuy and Mac Thi Thanh Thuy clinched gold in the women’s Canoe Double 200m event.

In Taekwondo, Bac Thi Khiem claimed victory in the women’s-73kg sparring final to win gold. In the men’s Kumite-67kg category, Khuat Hai Nam dominated 6-1 against Thailand’s Chanchang to take gold.

Vietnam also added two golds in lawn bowls. Ly Ngoc Tai and Ngo Ron captured the men’s pairs title, while Nguyen Thi Thy and Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu won the women’s pairs event.

In gymnastics, Dinh Phuong Thanh secured gold on the parallel bars. In athletics, Nguyen Thi Ngoc triumphed in the women’s 400m.

In swimming, Nguyen Quang Thuan took gold in the men’s 400m individual medley, while Nguyen Huy Hoang won the men’s 1,500m freestyle.

With these victories, Vietnam’s athletes delivered an outstanding performance on December 12, adding 10 gold medals to the country’s SEA Games 33 tally.
