SEA Games 33: Vietnam claims four gold medals on December 10

VOV.VN - Vietnamese athletes secured four gold medals on December 10 at SEA Games 33, winning in swimming, pétanque, canoeing, and taekwondo.

The gold medalists for Vietnam were Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong (women’s canoe double 500m), the taekwondo mixed team of five athletes (Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Tram Dang Khoa, Tran Ho Duy, Le Tran Kim Uyen, Nguyen Phan Khanh Han, and Nguyen Thi Y Binh), Tran Hung Nguyen (men’s 200m individual medley swimming), and Nguyen Van Dung (pétanque).

In addition to the four golds, the Vietnamese delegation also collected four silver and 14 bronze medals. While the results fell short of expectations, they remain a respectable performance given the challenges of the opening day of competition.

On December 11, SEA Games 33 will award medals in 53 events, with Vietnam expected to add more to its tally.
