Cambodia were originally scheduled in Group B which also included Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Timor-Leste. Following the team’s withdrawal, Group B now consists of four teams, bringing it in line with the number of teams in Group A. The AFF therefore decided to keep the original draw results unchanged and not conduct a new draw.

Group A now comprises Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and Timor-Leste, while Group B features Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Brunei.

The ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026 is to take place from April 6 to 12 at the Nonthaburi Provincial Gymnasium in Thailand. The eight teams will compete in a round-robin format in the group stage from April 6 to 8, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals on April 10. The third-place match and the final match are set for April 12.

In the group stage, Vietnam will face Myanmar on April 6, Timor-Leste on April 7, and the hosts Thailand on April 8. The top two teams will progress through to the semi-finals to vie for a spot in the final.

The Southeast Asian tournament is considered an important playground for national futsal teams in the region, and also an opportunity for Vietnamese futsal players to further hone their skills and aim for higher goals in continental competitions.
