National players to compete for quarterfinal spot at ITF Junior Grade 5

VOV.VN -Four Vietnamese tennis player are set to play for the right to progress to the quarterfinals of the boy’s singles event at the ongoing ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors - Hai Dang Cup 2019.

With the second-round fixtures set to take place today, Vo Quoc Uy is scheduled to take on Devineni Samjith, junior world No.983, of the United States. Uy has been able to make it to this stage after earning a surprise victory against Li Zixuan of China.

Vu Ha Minh Duc and Tu Le Khanh Duy are expected to enjoy easy games as they meet weak opponents in Nathan Jattavapornvanit of Thailand and Jack Loutit of New Zealand, respectively.

Elsewhere, Tran Tien Thinh will face a difficult task as he plays Falck Reece, junior world No.467, of New Zealand. Reece emerged as the champion of the ITF Junior Circuit Grade 4 - HUNG THINH Cup 2019.

In the girl’s singles event, all of the three competing Vietnamese players, Ho Thi Truc Tam, Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan, and Andre Le, bowed out in the second round as they came up against strong rivals.

On the same day, pairs will also compete in the boys’ and girls’ doubles event.
