National badminton star says farewell to World Badminton Champs

VOV.VN - Female Vietnamese badminton player Vu Thi Trang said farewell to ongoing World Badminton Championship after being defeated by world No2 Tai Tzu-Ying of Chinese Taipei in Tokyo on August 25.

Tai flexed her muscle, quickly edging out Trang 21- 15 and 21-10 in both sets of the game just after 34 minutes.

The Vietnamese badminton star failed to enter the quarter-finals, but qualifying for the third round is her best achievement.

On August 24, the Ho Chi Minh City native faced off against 15th top seed Mia Blichfeldt and she secured a 2-1 win over the Danish player.

Meanwhile, other Vietnamese players Nguyen Tien Minh and Nguyen Thuy Linh failed to advance after enduring defeats in the first and second rounds, respectively.

The 2022 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships began on August 22 and is scheduled to last through to August 28. All games are being held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
