Nam, Thien advance to Vietnam Open’s quarters

Vietnamese duo Ly Hoang Nam and Nguyen Hoang Thien entered the quarter-final round of the Vietnam Open tennis tournament’s doubles category on October 12 in HCM City.

The host pair who received a wild card for the main round defeated Taro Daniel and Akira Santillan of Japan 6-4, 6-3 in a 59-minute match at the Lan Anh Tennis Court.

Their next rivals are No 1 pair Sanchai Ratiwatana and Sonchat Ratiwatana of Thailand, who beat American Stefan Kozlov and Mitchell Krueger 7-6 (2), 6-1.

Ratiwatana brother lost to the Vietnamese duo in the final of the F5 Men’s Futures event three weeks ago in Binh Duong Province.
