My Tien to compete at World Athletics Championships 2025 in Japan
VOV.VN - Huynh Thi My Tien on September 11 departed for Tokyo to compete at the World Athletics Championships 2025, becoming Vietnam’s sole representative at the global tournament after receiving a wildcard from World Athletics (WA).
Tien will contest the women’s 100m hurdles, with the qualifying round set for September 14. The championships are scheduled to run from September 13 to 21.
The hurdler’s recent highlight was a 7th-place finish at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships, clocking 13.69 seconds. Earlier this year, she struck gold in the same event at the national championships with 13.52 seconds.
Tien also captured the women’s 100m hurdles gold medal at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) in Cambodia in 2023.
