Muaythai team target two golds at Asian Beach Games

The national Muaythai (Thai boxing) aims to win two gold medals at the coming fifth Asian Beach Games (ABG) in Vietnam in September.

To prepare for the event, the 26-member squad have been training in HCM City-based National Sports Training Centre since early this year under the guidance of head coach Giap Trung Thang.

Vietnamese athletes will compete in an international event in Thailand on March 17-24 and then take part in the World Muaythai Championships in Sweden on May 19-26.

After two these tournaments, the team will have a short training session in Thailand in July.

At the fourth ABG held in Thailand in 2014, Viet Nam won two golds, two silvers and one bronze.
