Ly Hoang Nam, Sophia Phuong Anh honored at Vietnam Pickleball Awards 2025
VOV.VN -Ly Hoang Nam and Sophia Phuong Anh were honored at the Vietnam Pickleball Awards 2025, held in Ho Chi Minh City on March 23, which recognizes individuals, teams and organizations with notable contributions to the development of pickleball in Vietnam.
The awards feature 18 categories, bringing together leading players, artists and a broad sports community.
In the most-watched category, men’s player of the year, former Vietnam tennis No. 1 Ly Hoang Nam took top honors after surpassing Tran Ngoc Trieu and Do Minh Quan in voting by fans and experts.
The year 2025 marked a strong transition for him as he won the PPA Asia Tour in Hangzhou in December, thus securing his first international title.
Sophia Phuong Anh dominated the gala night, completing a hat-trick of titles: women’s player of the year, best mixed doubles (with Le Xuan Duc) and best women’s doubles (with Sophia Huynh Tran).
In other categories, the best men’s doubles award went to Do Minh Quan and Truong Vinh Hien. Cao Thuy Dung was named best women’s 40+ player, while Do Minh Quan also won best men’s 40+. Young talents Suri Bao Han (girls’ U18) and Le Xuan Duc (men’s youth) were named promising players.
The Vietnam Pickleball Awards 2025, organized by PWC Pickleball in coordination with Vinama JSC, attracted federations, associations, clubs, coaches, athletes, partners, sponsors, brands, media outlets, artists, KOLs and pickleball enthusiasts.
Speaking at the gala, Doan Ngoc Minh, CEO and founder of PWC Pickleball and head of the organizing board, said: “We expect this to become an important milestone in the professionalization of pickleball as a contribution to building a sustainable development ecosystem.”
With the message “One year of dedication – one moment of recognition,” the awards stand as formal acknowledgment of the sustained efforts of Vietnam’s pickleball community throughout its development journey.
