In her first appearance at the global tournament, Lien Quynh impressed with four straight wins in the qualifying round before running into Dutch star Therese Klompenhouwer in the semifinals. Klompenhouwer, a five-time world champion (2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022), proved too strong and won 30-13 after 40 innings.

Klompenhouwer went on to defeat Kim Ha Eun of the Republic of Korea in the final to lift her sixth world title.

Despite the semifinal loss, Lien Quynh’s bronze medal performance earned wide praise from fans at home and abroad. The result also propelled her to 10th in the world rankings, making her the only Vietnamese player currently in the top 20 of the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB).
