Liem places 7th in blitz chess China event

Le Quang Liem of Vietnam could only improve his standing to No 7, in the second leg of the blitz chess at the International Mind Sports Association Elite Games.

The Vietnamese Grandmaster grabbed 5.5 points in 11 games, ongoing in Huai’an City, Jiangshu, China, taking his total points to 10, but not enough to secure a berth in the top three.

Russian GM Artemiev Vladislav won the gold medal with 16 points. 

He was followed by GM Alexander Grischuk (16 points) and GM Dmitry Andreikin (14 points), also from Russia.

Athletes continue with basque chess organised on December 14-15, with five round matches.
