Liem, Khoi held to draws at Dubai Open

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem was held to a draw during the second match of the ongoing Dubai Open. Despite going into the game with an advantage, he could not gain a win over his opponent.

Starting the match enjoying the advantage of holding the white pawn, Liem (Elo rating 2711) was held to a draw by Haug Jahanne of Norway (Elo rating 2424) after 35 moves.

The draw could see Liem bow out of the International Super Grandmaster tournament as he lost 3.4 Elo points due to the result.

Liem will next face off against Shyaamnikhil of India (Elo rating 2439) in the third match of the tournament.

His teammate, Nguyen Anh Khoi (Elo rating 2481), was also held to a draw against Jeet Jain of India (Elo rating 2219) after 27 moves.

His next match will take place against Jain’s countryman, Kunal of India (Elo rating 2273).
