Le Huy Viet Anh named among top players to watch at U17 Asian Cup

VOV.VN - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has named Vietnamese defender Le Huy Viet Anh among the top players to watch at the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2025, due to start in Saudi Arabia on April 3.

In its article, the website shared that Vietnam put in a strong performance in the qualifying round with a notable contribution coming from Viet Anh. It said that the defender was not only resolute at the back, but also scored the equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Yemen.

Viet Anh, 17, is currently playing for the youth team of The Promotion Fund for Vietnamese Football Talent (PVF) Football Academy.

In the group stage, Vietnam’s U17s will face Australia on April 4, Japan on April 7, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 10.

Stars who are expected to shine at the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2025 also include Alwaleed Aloufi of Saudi Arabia, Nematulloh Rustamjonov of Uzbekistan, Silva Mexes of Thailand, Wei Xiangxin of China, Hiroto Asada of Japan, Anthony Didulica of Australia, Mayed Adel of the UAE, Kim Ji-Sung of the Republic of Korea, Mohammed Al Garash of Yemen, Arash Ahmadi of Afghanistan, Mathew Ryan Baker of Indonesia, Omid Garachchomaghloo of Iran, Muhammadjon Nazriev of Tajikistan, Al Walid Al Rashdi of Oman, and Kim Yu Jin of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
