Indonesia beat Vietnam Youth for semi-final berth

The Indonesian national team secured a berth in the semi-finals of the annual VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup, on July 11, in Hai Duong City.

Indonesia ranked second in Group B after beating the Vietnam Youth team 25-12, 25-12, 21-25, 25-14.

Indonesian players watched the matches of Vietnam Youth carefully and took advantage of their poor digging skills.

They maintained big distance throughout the match, although in the second set Vietnam Youth fought back strongly and levelled the score.

Indonesia joined the Japanese Students team that stopped the group with three wins in the last four rounds after beating Thailand Youth 17-25, 6-25, 10-25 in an earlier match.

The Vietnam national team beat the South Korean Suwon City Club 25-13, 25-7, 25-23 to top Group A after two wins.

Suwon rank second and also advance to the next round where they will play Japan in the next stage while Vietnam will face Indonesia.
