Futsal friendly: Vietnam stun World No. 7 Kazakhstan with 4-1 victory
VOV.VN - The Vietnam national futsal team defeated World No. 7 Kazakhstan 4-1 in an international friendly game on April 13 afternoon.

Facing off in their third friendly match of April, Vietnam took on formidable opponents Kazakhstan – a team ranked 24 spots above them in the FIFA Futsal World Rankings.
The Central Asian squad boasted superior technical skills and a lineup filled with naturalized Brazilian players, most notably goalkeeper Leo Higuita, widely regarded as the best futsal keeper in the world.
Despite the challenge, it was Vietnam who struck first. In the 15th minute of the first half, capitalizing on an advanced position by Higuita, Minh Quang launched a shot from his own half, scoring into the empty net.
In the second half, although still considered the underdogs, Vietnam held their ground bravely and launched sharp counterattacks. Kazakhstan managed to equalize in the 32nd minute with a beautiful team move that beat keeper Ho Van Y.
When the match seemed destined for a draw, Chau Doan Phat fired a powerful long-range strike in the 39th minute, catching the Kazakhstan defense off guard and extending Vietnam’s lead at 2-1.
Desperate to come back, Kazakhstan deployed a power-play strategy with their keeper moving up. However, this tactic backfired, leaving their goal exposed. Vietnamese players capitalized on chances, scoring two more goals, including a memorable one from goalkeeper Ho Van Y himself.
The match ended with a resounding 4-1 victory for Vietnam, a true shocker against a team that had previously reached the Futsal World Cup semifinals.
