Football friendly: Werder Bremen stun Vietnam 4-1 in Hanoi
VOV.VN - The Vietnam women’s national football team were defeated 1-4 by Werder Bremen Women’s FC of Germany that showcased their superior physical strength and technical skill in a friendly match held at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi on May 16.

Both teams fielded their strongest lineups at the beginning. Vietnam, under experienced coach Mai Duc Chung, entered the match in a defensive stance.
However, Werder Bremen quickly applied pressure and broke the deadlock in the 15th minute. Maja Sternad made a powerful run down the right wing and assisted Ricarda Walkling, who scored the opening goal.
In the second half, Vietnam struggled to maintain possession and fell further behind. Goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh initially blocked a close-range effort, but Larissa Muhlhaus converted the rebound to make it 2-0.
Vietnam responded with a promising chance, but striker Pham Hai Yen missed in front of an open goal. Later, young forward Ngoc Minh Chuyen impressed by outrunning the German defence and scoring a well-placed shot to narrow the gap to 1-2.
Werder Bremen quickly regained control. Muhlhaus scored her second goal of the night from a free kick just outside the box, extending their lead to 3-1. The German team continued to dominate possession and chances.
In injury time, Hungarian international Emoke Papai scored the final goal, sealing a comprehensive 4-1 victory for Werder Bremen.
