VOV.VN - The French Institute in Vietnam (IFV), in coordination with the Vietnam Ice Skating and Roller Federation, will host a training session and exchange with world-renowned figure skater Surya Bonaly on March 24 at Royal City Ice Rink.
The programme will include training sessions for professional athletes and beginners, followed by an exchange, Q&A and a media meeting.
Vietnamese skaters will receive direct instruction on technique and performance style from one of the sport’s leading icons.
According to organisers, the technical training will last 60 minutes, split between the two groups, followed by 30 minutes for interaction and photos, and another 30 minutes for media interviews.
The event will provide live French-Vietnamese interpretation, with coordination from the Sports Authority of Vietnam and the Vietnam Ice Skating and Roller Federation.
Surya Bonaly is one of the most decorated and distinctive figure skaters in the world. She competed in three Winter Olympics, finished runner-up at the World Championships three times, won nine French national titles and five European championships.
She is known for her powerful and creative style, particularly a backflip landing on one foot at the Olympic stage, an iconic moment in the sport’s history.
The event is expected to contribute to the development of figure skating in Vietnam and offer local athletes the opportunity to learn from one of the sport’s leading figures.
