Fencer Le Dung qualifies for 2016 Olympics

VOV.VN - Fencer Nguyen Thi Le Dung has qualified for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics after narrowly defeating her Taiwanese rival, 15-13, in the women’s epee final at the Asia-Pacific zonal qualification matches ongoing in China. 

In earlier qualifying rounds, Dung emerged victorious over fencers from Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Kazakhstan and Hong Kong. 


This is the first time the talented fencer from Hanoi with more than 13 years of international competition under her belt has secured an Olympic berth. 

This is also the third Olympic ticket for a Vietnamese fencer to the 2016 Olympics.
