Duong Quoc Hoang wins Premier League Pool 2026 in Miami
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Duong Quoc Hoang claimed his first Premier League Pool title after defeating defending runner-up Francisco Sanchez Ruiz 7–4 in the final in Miami, the United States, on February 22.
Facing one of the sport’s established names, Hoang delivered a composed and confident performance. He capitalised on early opportunities to take the opening two racks, setting the tone with precise shot-making and effective table control.
Ruiz attempted to close the gap, but Hoang maintained his rhythm and extended his lead. A pivotal moment came in the eighth rack, when the Vietnamese player combined powerful break shots with tight defensive play to move to the hill.
Although he briefly faltered on a missed 9-ball that momentarily raised tension among spectators, Hoang quickly regained composure and sealed the 7–4 victory.
The triumph marks Hoang’s first Premier League Pool championship and his second individual World Nineball Tour (WNT) title, following his victory at the Scottish Open in 2024.
Hoang entered the tournament in strong form, winning three consecutive matches on opening day. He topped Stage 1 of the competition with notable victories over defending champion Moritz Neuhausen (Germany), Aloysius Yapp (Singapore), AJ Manas (the Philippines) and Eklent Kaci (Albania).
In the semi-finals, Hoang edged out Albert Januata 7–6 before producing a dominant display against Sanchez Ruiz in the final.
The win further strengthens Vietnam’s growing presence on the international professional pool circuit.
