Athletes with disabilities depart for Rio Paralympics

A see-off ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 27 for athletes with disabilities to depart for the Paralympics 2016 in Brazil. 

The 22-member Vietnamese delegation includes 11 athletes to compete in track and field, swimming and weightlifting. 

At the event, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien spoke highly of the athletes’ efforts in training for the games and encouraged them to overcome themselves and do the best for national pride.
