Silver for Vietnam at Asian Shooting Championship Rifle/Pistol
VOV.VN - Vietnam won a silver medal in the women's 10m air pistol at the Asian Shooting Championship Rifle/Pistol 2026 which is taking place in India.
In the 10m air pistol women's team, Trinh Thu Vinh advanced to the final round, finishing fifth with 177.2 points. Shooter Trieu Thi Hoa Hong placed sixth with 154.7 points. Despite missing out on individual medals, Vietnam claimed the silver medal in the team event.
Three shooters Trinh Thu Vinh, Trieu Thi Hoa Hong, and Nguyen Thuy Trang scored a total of 1,713 points, ranking second after the Indian team with 1,726 points. Taian (China) secured bronze with 1,711 points.
In the men's 10m air pistol, Pham Quang Huy reached the individual final but finished sixth with 157.9 points. Vietnam’s men’s team - Pham Quang Huy, Lai Cong Minh and Nguyen Dinh Thanh - recorded 1,715 points, placing fourth overall. Uzbekistan won the team title with 1,732 points.
The Asian Shooting Championship Rifle/Pistol 2026 opened on February 4 and is scheduled to run until February 14. Vietnam has sent 14 shooters to both pistol and rifle divisions.
