VOV.VN - Vietnamese golfer Le Chuc An delivered a composed final-round performance on January 25 to secure the women’s championship at the AJGA International Pathway Series 2026, held in Trang An, Ninh Binh province.
In the women’s division, An engaged in a tight battle with Yoon Gyu Ri of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on the final day, as both golfers remained in contention for the overall lead. The local golfer made a strong start, recording birdies on holes two, three and four to take early control.
An maintained her momentum and continued to post crucial scores over the remaining holes. She closed the final round with an impressive 65 strokes, seven under par. After three rounds, she finished atop the leaderboard at 12 under par.
Meanwhile, Yoon Gyu Ri carded a 73 (+1) in the final round and finished second overall at seven-under-par. Her compatriot Shin Hae In placed third with a total score of two under par.
Another Vietnamese player, Nguyen Bao Chau, posted a three-round total of six-over-par, the next-best finish among local golfers in the girls’ division.
In the men’s competition, Vietnamese golfer Nguyen Tuan Anh claimed runner-up title with a total score of one over par after three rounds. Despite posting a one-under-par round on the final day, Tuan Anh fell short of the top spot.
The men’s title went to Hose Lee of the RoK who finished on two under par overall, while Lubanzi Tselane of South Africa placed third at two over par.
A highlight of the final round came when Nguyen Tuan Anh recorded a spectacular hole-in-one on the par-three eighth hole from a distance of 155 yards.
The tournament attracted 120 golfers from various countries and territories and is part of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) system. It marked the first official international event for Nguyen Tuan Anh and Le Chuc An since the 2025 SEA Games, where Nguyen won a bronze medal in the men’s team event and Le claimed bronze in the women’s individual competition.
