Young couples share love through blood donation on Valentine’s Day
VOV.VN - As part of the 2025 Spring Festival, taking place from February 8 to 16, many young couples celebrated Valentine’s Day in a meaningful way by donating blood, spreading love and compassion.

Bui Thi Thanh Mai, a first-year student at Hanoi National University of Education, and Doan Minh Hiep, a first-year student at Electric Power University, marked their fourth anniversary with their first-ever joint blood donation. Dressed in matching outfits and holding hands throughout the process, they drew the attention of many. “There are many ways to express love, but nothing is more meaningful than doing something good together and giving others a chance at life,” Hiep shared.
Similarly, Tran Thi Uyen Nhu, a student at the University of Commerce, and Nguyen Huu Huy, from Vietnam National University, created a special memory after nearly three years of dating. Last year, Nhu was ineligible to donate blood, leaving Huy to donate alone. Determined to experience this meaningful act together, she focused on improving her health over the past year, allowing her to donate alongside her boyfriend this time.

In addition to young couples, many families also took part in the event. Nguyen Hong Hoa and her husband have made it a tradition to donate blood together every year. “I may not have the financial means to help others, but I can contribute in my own way by donating blood to save lives,” Hoa said.
The 2025 Spring Festival aims to collect at least 8,000 blood units and features various activities, including couple donations, matchmaking for donors, and gatherings of outstanding blood donation advocates.
