Yak-130 wreckage found in Dak Lak forest two days after crash
VOV.VN - Relevant forces have found the wreckage of the Yak-130 military aircraft at the Yok Don National Park in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak after it crashed two days ago.
The wreckage of the aircraft was found at 14:30 on November 8 in a dense forest of the Yok Don National Park in Ea Sup district, said a local official.
According to the official, the area where the plane crashed was covered with large trees.
Initial investigation showed that the branches and leaves covering the aircraft were still fresh, meaning the plane did not catch fire.
The Yak-130 is a Russian-manufactured training jet and is capable of reaching speeds up to 1,060 kph. It can fly at a maximum altitude of 12,500 metres.
The incident occurred during a routine training flight on November 6. The aircraft was engaged in a complex training mission involving long-distance, no-horizon, and cloud penetration flying, in challenging weather conditions. The pilots managed to parachute before the plane crashed. They were rescued hours later.
Hundreds of military officers, soldiers and local residents were mobilized to Yok Don National Park to join search efforts for the wreckage of the military training aircraft.
Authorities launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
