VOV strengthens cooperation with Polish public broadcasters

VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has reached agreement with Polish Public Television known as Telewizja Polska (TVP) and Polskie Radio to access their archives of classical and jazz music recordings, bringing Polish musical heritage to Vietnamese listeners.

The agreement was reached during working sessions in Poland on November 4-5 led by VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang. Leaders of TVP and Polskie Radio valued their cooperation with VOV, recognizing it as one of Vietnam’s leading multimedia press agencies.

During the meetings, the sides shared operational management experience, digital transformation strategies, technical applications in program production, and methods for reaching viewers and listeners on digital platforms.”

The agencies agreed to step up cooperation in news exchange, content sharing, and co-production to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples, while moving toward signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

A highlight of the working visit was VOV’s proposal for TVP and Polskie Radio to provide classical and jazz music recordings produced and owned by the Polish broadcasters. The Polish partners agreed to the request, opening opportunities to introduce musical works from the homeland of composer Frédéric Chopin to Vietnamese listeners.

At Polskie Radio, the VOV delegation visited its specialized music channels, including Dwójka (Program 2), which broadcasts classical music and cultural programs via FM, DAB+, and the internet.

Polskie Radio Chopin, a digital channel dedicated to Polish classical music, shares similarities with VOV's development orientation for its new classical music channel. Meanwhile, Trójka (Program 3) features diverse musical genres, including specialized jazz programming.

Polskie Radio also operates the Polskie Radio Music Agency (Agencja Muzyczna Polskiego Radia), formerly the Polskie Radio Record Label. Since 1996, the agency has released CDs sourced from the station’s archives, featuring classical, popular, and folk music performed by leading Polish artists.

Additionally, the Polish national radio broadcaster maintains the Polskie Radio Orchestra in Warsaw. Established in 1934, the orchestra specializes in recording symphonic works, theatrical music, and new compositions.

The sides also discussed VOV’s orientation to join the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) as an associate member. As long-standing EBU members, leaders of TVP and Polskie Radio welcomed and supported VOV's initiative, creating further opportunities for VOV to expand its international broadcasting network.

During the visit, the VOV delegation also held a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland.  Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang requested that the embassy continue to pay attention to and support VOV in promoting cooperation with Polish media organizations, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of external information work and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam.

The VOV leader also proposed the embassy regularly coordinate with and provide updates on the host country's situation and the activities of the Vietnamese community in Poland. This will help VOV promptly and vividly reflect the lives of overseas Vietnamese, as well as developments in the Vietnam-Poland Strategic Partnership.

The working visit took place at a particularly significant time, following the elevation of Vietnam-Poland diplomatic relations to a Strategic Partnership during the official visit to Vietnam by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in late October 2026.

Building on more than 76 years of friendly relations established in 1950, the upgraded relationship opens a new chapter for comprehensive bilateral cooperation, with press and media playing a pioneering role in fostering mutual understanding and affection between both nations’ people.
