VOV bureau in Jakarta to forge greater Vietnam-Indonesia ties

VOV.VN - The opening of a representative office of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in Jakarta will be a new advancement in bilateral ties between Vietnam and Indonesia, said VOV President Nguyen The Ky at a reception for Indonesian ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi in Hanoi on November 15.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky highlighted at the function the time-honoured relationship and strategic partnership shared between Vietnam and Indonesia. It is hoped that the Indonesian embassy will make further contributions to enhancing the relationship and implementing the joint statement between the two countries.

Recognizing the importance of Indonesia in bilateral ties with Vietnam and across the Asian region as a whole, VOV has gained the approval of the Prime Minister to open a VOV bureau in Indonesia, he said, while  underlining the significant role that the Indonesian government and the ambassador played in facilitating the opening of the VOV bureau in Indonesia.

The VOV leader requested that the Indonesian embassy further strengthen connectivity and provide information on formalities in order to help the opening of VOV’s representative office in Indonesia run smoothly and successfully.

At present, VOV currently broadcasts in a total of 13 languages, including the Indonesian language. The opening of a VOV bureau in Indonesia will help further spread information on bilateral ties and outstanding activities of the ASEAN organisation as well as stepping up cooperation with the Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) in the years to come.

Ambassador Ibnu Hadi, in turn, underscored the importance of VOV in promoting bilateral ties and showed his elation that VOV is to launch radio programs in the Indonesian language, while RRI is yet to broadcast radio programs in Vietnamese.

The Indonesian diplomat also praised VOV’s rapid developments that have allowed it to keep pace with the world’s trends across a range of media platforms such as TV, radio, online newspaper and printed newspaper.

He also expressed hope that the opening of the VOV bureau will help bilateral ties to thrive with more exchanges in high-level visits to come in the future.
