Volunteer soldiers’ remains from Cambodia laid to rest in Kon Tum
VOV.VN - A ceremony was held at a martyr cemetery in Ngoc Hoi district of Kon Tum province on June 4 to re-bury the remains of eight Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who had died in Cambodia during wartime.
The remains were collected by the provincial Military Command’s Team K53 with the support from the authority of Cambodia’s Ratanakiri province during the 2023 - 2024 dry season.
All of the repatriated remains are still unclaimed.
One day earlier, Y Ngoc, vice chairwoman of the Kon Tum provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Steering Committee 515, had a meeting with leaders of Rattanakiri province to discuss the withdrawal of Team 53 after they have completed their mission in the 2023 - 2024 dry season.
