Earlier this year, the Ministry of Science and Technology granted a satellite fixed telecom service license to Starlink Services Vietnam Co., Ltd., paving the way for the rollout of satellite internet services. Once operational, Vietnam will become the fifth Southeast Asian country to host Starlink services, after the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Timor-Leste, a move expected to further strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.
