Vietnam’s fixed broadband internet speed ranks 34th worldwide
VOV.VN - Vietnam has achieved a significant milestone in internet connection by attaining 22nd position in median mobile internet speed and 34th position in fixed broadband speed globally in January.

The Speedtest Global Index from Ookla, an American firm that describes itself as a "global leader in network intelligence and connectivity insights", reported that mobile internet download speeds in the country reached an unprecedented 134.19 Mbps, up 15 notches to 22nd position globally.
The fixed broadband speed also improved, climbing to 163.41 Mbps, up one notch compared to last year.
The average Vietnamese internet speeds exceeded the global mobile and fixed broadband averages of 91.24 Mbps and 97.61 Mbps, respectively.
According to Ookla, the United Arab Emirates leads in mobile internet speeds at 545.94 Mbps, while Singapore tops the fixed broadband ranking with 336.45 Mbps.
The Vietnamese Government has set an annual target of ensuring 5G services in all provinces, high-tech zones, research centres, industrial parks, ports, and international airports. By 2030, 5G coverage is expected to reach 99% of the entire population.
