Vietnamese rescue forces save injured Filipino sailor

VOV.VN -A Filipino crew member on the Bulk Japan, a Liberian-flagged vessel, was rescued by the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) on June 13 after suffering a severe injury.

Alcarez Peter II Alesna, a 46-year-old sailor from the Philippines, was aboard the ship as it was passing Danang from China on the way to Singapore. It was here that the sailor suffered an accident whilst working in the ship’s cargo hold, receiving severe injuries to his backbone, chest, and right hand in the process.

The captain of the ship immediately contacted MRCC for assistance.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the MRCC along with medical staff arrived aboard the vessel just in time to save the man’s life and transfer him to Danang for treatment.
