Vietnamese in Israel urged to step up safety measures amid Middle East conflict

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel issued an urgent notice to the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the country in Tel Aviv on the afternoon of March 22 (local time), as the security situation remains complex.

In the notice, the embassy strongly urged Vietnamese nationals to regularly follow guidance from local authorities based on their areas of residence, proactively prepare plans to access shelters, and strictly comply with safety regulations. It stressed that shockwaves from ballistic missile explosions have very high destructive power, capable of causing serious damage at close range and still posing danger within a radius of several hundred metres.

The embassy also noted that upon receiving alerts, people should move quickly to the nearest safe shelter and only leave when there is official guidance from

Israel’s Home Front Command. With the security situation still carrying risks, heightened vigilance and strict compliance with regulations are considered key factors in ensuring safety.

According to updates, on March 21-22, many areas across Israel recorded widespread alerts, along with several incidents causing localised damage in central and southern locations such as Tel Aviv, Arad, Dimona and nearby areas. Some incidents resulted in casualties and affected civilian infrastructure and daily life. In response, Israel’s Home Front Command reassessed risk levels and adjusted civil defence measures, tightening controls and expanding their scope nationwide.

Under a notice issued on March 22, new civil defence measures take effect from 06:00 on March 22 to 20:00 on March 24, 2026, with many areas placed under restricted activity. Regions including Lakhish, western Lakhish, the Negev and the Dead Sea area have been raised to higher alert levels, while central areas such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Sharon and Haifa continue under strict control measures.

In-person education has been suspended; gatherings are limited to a maximum of 50 people and must ensure access to standard shelters; workplaces are allowed to operate only when safety conditions are fully met; and beaches are closed to the public.
