Vietnamese expatriates in Laos look to Party Congress with confidence
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese community in Laos is closely following preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, viewing the event as a key political milestone and expressing strong confidence in the country’s reform path and future development.
Like overseas Vietnamese elsewhere, Vietnamese expatriates in Laos continue to maintain close ties with their homeland, closely monitoring political and socio-economic developments in the homeland. Many see the upcoming Party Congress as an opportunity for renewed reforms and strategic decisions to guide the country’s growth in the coming decades.
Truong Van Phuong, a young Vietnamese teacher who has worked in Laos for nearly 15 years, says he takes pride in Vietnam’s achievements and often incorporates them into his lessons for Vietnamese and Lao students. He notes that policies supporting overseas Vietnamese have helped him overcome geographical distance and remain committed to teaching the Vietnamese language and culture abroad.
“With great trust and expectations, I believe the 14th Party Congress will set out sound strategies that benefit the country and the people, while further enhancing Vietnam’s standing on the international stage,” Phuong says.
Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, a Vietnamese entrepreneur in Vientiane who has lived in Laos for nearly two decades, says she closely follows political developments in Vietnam and hopes the Congress will adopt policies that promote national development and provide greater support for overseas Vietnamese communities.
“I do hope that Vietnam will continue to create favourable mechanisms to help overseas Vietnamese integrate into host societies while preserving their legal status, cultural traditions and the Vietnamese language,” shares the executive.
Pham Van Hung, Chairman of the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos, says the community is confident that the 14th Party Congress will be successful and will elect a capable and dedicated leadership team to steer Vietnam’s development.
“On behalf of the Vietnamese community in Laos, we sincerely hope the Congress will be a success and that Vietnam’s international standing will continue to rise,” he says.
For Vietnamese expatriates in Laos, the 14th National Party Congress represents not only a major political event but also a source of hope for a new phase of reform and development as Vietnam moves forward in a new era.
