Vietnamese intellectuals in Czech Republic share aspirations to help shape the future
VOV.VN - The community of young Vietnamese intellectuals in the Czech Republic has been closely following developments in preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, affirming that they are an inseparable part of the nation.
The 14th National Congress takes place at a time when the country faces intertwined opportunities and challenges, with growing demands for comprehensive and sustainable development.
Ahead of this important national event, overseas Vietnamese intellectuals say they hope to have greater opportunities to contribute, while expressing confidence and expectations that the Congress will be successful and bring about further changes, particularly in education and science and technology.
The reality shows that the confidence and expectations of overseas Vietnamese toward the Party and the State have been nurtured by consistent policies that place strong emphasis on the overseas Vietnamese community, especially intellectuals.
Party resolutions and conclusions have led to substantive shifts in both awareness and action on work related to overseas Vietnamese, helping mobilize resources and strengthen links between overseas communities and the homeland.
Pham Ngoc Khanh, who holds a doctorate and currently works at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in the Czech Republic, said he was particularly interested in and welcomed the Party and State’s decision to widely seek public feedback on the documents for the 14th Congress, especially content related to building and developing the Vietnamese people.
In his view, comprehensive human development needs to be implemented in ways that match the specific conditions of each locality and social group, avoiding uniform, scattered approaches that lack focus. He also called for further concrete and robust policies on education, science and technology, and high-quality human resources, viewing these as a critical breakthrough for strengthening the country’s internal capacity.
Ahead of the Congress, Doan Dang Phi Hung, a postgraduate researcher at the Faculty of Economics at the University of West Bohemia in Plzen, said he has high expectations for breakthrough changes after the 14th Congress, especially in setting directions for developing high-quality human resources and promoting policies to attract and connect with overseas intellectuals and the international Vietnamese community.
In the context of accelerating digital transformation and deeper international integration, he said he hopes the Congress will continue to reaffirm the pivotal role of higher education in innovation, scientific research and training a workforce that meets the country’s development needs in the new period.
Higher education, he added, should be given greater autonomy and stronger links with overseas intellectual communities to better match practical needs and global trends.
Each overseas intellectual carries a strong aspiration to serve and contribute to the country. The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, and Vietnamese communities abroad more broadly, continue to express confidence in the success of the 14th Congress, expecting it to serve as a celebration of unity across the Party and the people, and to outline sound directions while mobilizing both domestic and external resources to create breakthroughs and support sustainable development in a new era.
Many also express confidence that the Congress will select a leadership with both integrity and capability, worthy of the trust of the country and its people, to guide Vietnam toward greater strength and prosperity and bring a more prosperous and happy life for its citizens.
