Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore calls for support in COVID-19 prevention efforts

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore has called on staff, businesses, organisations, and members of the overseas Vietnamese community in Singapore to support COVID-19 prevention efforts back home.

The embassy made the call in response to appeals by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, aiming to uphold the Vietnamese tradition of solidarity and mutual support, and mobilise all resources to strengthen epidemic prevention measures.

Addressing the fundraising event, Chargé d'Affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore Le Cong Dung highlighted the responsibility of the overseas Vietnamese community for their efforts to support both the Government and citizens back home in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three days on from launching the event, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore has raised more than VND260 million for the fight against COVID-19.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore has also set up a contact point to directly receive donations from organisations and individuals within Singapore, as well as providing addresses in Vietnam for benefactors to give their donations.

The fundraising event is scheduled to run from June 4 to June 20.
