Vietnamese artist features in Forbes’ 50 Over 50: Asia 2023
VOV.VN - Forbes Magazine has named People’s Artist Bach Tuyet, a cai luong (reformed opera) performer, on its 50 Over 50: Asia 2023 list.
According to Forbes, Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet is a household name in Vietnam who is best known for "Cai luong" - a modern form of traditional opera.
She earned a Ph.D. in Art in 1995 and was recognised as a People's Artist, Vietnam’s highest recognition for people in the entertainment industry, in her 60s.
Tuyet went on to win the TikTok Awards Vietnam in Music of the Year in 2022 for "Ve Nghe Me Ru” (Coming home to listen to Mommy's Lullaby).
“Her collaborations with contemporary art forms such as hip-hop has generated nearly 20 million views, and she is now working on a 2024 game show,” the magazine added.
The women who feature among the third annual 50 Over 50: Asia list compiled by Forbes Magazine hail from 14 countries and territories and more than two dozen sectors of work.
“They're exerting their influence on fashion, pharma, finance and beyond—and they're doing so at 54, 68 and even 112,” it stressed.
