Vietnam wins three golds at Int’l Physics Olympiad 2022
VOV.VN - All five Vietnamese students have won medals, including three golds, at the recent International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2022 hosted by Switzerland, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
The three gold medals were awarded to 10th grader Vo Hoang Hai, 12th grader Le Minh Hoang and 11th grader Vu Ngo Hoang Duong. They are all students of Hanoi University of Science (HUS)'s High School for Gifted Students under Hanoi-based Vietnam National University (VNU).
This is the first time Vietnam has sent a 10th grader to the competition, and he has bagged the gold medal.
The Vietnamese team also won a silver and a bronze at this year’s competition.
Overall, the team ranked fifth after China, Romania, the Republic of Korea and the United States.
The IPhO 2022 was virtually held from July 10 – 17, attracting the participation of 368 competitors from 75 countries and territories. It was the third consecutive year the contest has been held online.
