Local student wins gold at 2021 European Physics Olympiad
VOV.VN - Vietnamese student Tran Duong Chinh, a 12th grader at Hung Vuong Gifted High School, won a gold medal whilst competing at the 2021 European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO), which has been taking place in an online format.
Chinh became one of the five outstanding contestants to earn the highest score at 2021 EuPhO.
According to Vietnam Physical Society, Vietnamese student Nguyen Thanh Binh, a 12th grader at Bac Giang Gifted High School, also earned a bronze medal.
This year has seen the competition feature the participation of 220 contestants from 46 countries globally. All competitors are taking part in two rounds, including an experimental exam and a theoretical exam.
The latest competition marks the third time that Vietnamese students have participated in the EuPhO, which was first held in Tallinn, Estonia, back in 2017.
Last year saw Vietnamese students claim one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the contest.
