Vietnam safe from COVID-19 in community over 17 days
VOV.VN - Vietnam has registered no coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, and September 19 marks the 17th day in a row that the country has been clear of the virus in the community.
The number of people who had contact with COVID-19 patients and returned from epidemic hit countries has fallen to 30,163.
Doctors have successfully treated 942 out of 1,068 patients confirmed nationwide so far. The number of death toll remains unchanged at 35, with most of them suffering from other related health issues such as chronic renal failure, cancer, pneumonia, diabetes and multi-organ failure.
Currently, nearly 100 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment at health facilities across the country. Thirty-nine of them have tested negative for the virus at least once.
Though the outbreak has been brought under control, the Ministry of Health warns people about the possible resurgence of the virus unless people fully comply with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
Accordingly, people are encouraged to wear face masks, wash hands with sanitizer, avoid gatherings and keep safe distance from each other.
