COVID-19: Two new imported cases raise Vietnam’s tally to 1,068
VOV.VN - Vietnam has recorded two new imported coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total number of COVID-19 infections to 1,068.
The Ministry of Health reported at 18.00hrs September 18 that both new cases who are residents of Ca Mau province had contacted COVID-19 patients in Pakistan before taking QH461 flight to Vietnam.
Upon landing at Khanh Hoa province’s Cam Ranh International Airport on September 15, they were placed in quarantine in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
They were both tested on September 16 by the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute and the positive status was confirmed the following day.
The two patients are being quarantined and treated at Khanh Hoa’s Cam Lam medical centre.
With the new cases, the cumulative number of COVID-19 patients in Vietnam has risen to 1,068, of whom 941 patients have recovered and 35 have died of the disease and other related health issues.
There are 92 COVID-19 patients given treatment at different health facilities, with 22 of them having tested negative three times.
The number of people who had contact with COVID-19 patients or returned from epidemic hit countries has fallen to 31,319.
