Vietnam further eases procedures for foreign nationals’ entry, exit, and residence

VOV.VN - Vietnam continues to make it easier for foreigners to enter, exit, and reside in the country, contributing to the growth of the tourism sector and overall socio-economic development, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stated.

Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang made the statement at the ministry’s routine press briefing in Hanoi on February 13 in reply to a reporter’s question regarding Vietnam’s visa exemption policy for certain countries.

She noted that earlier this year, the Vietnamese Government issued a resolution granting a 45-day visa exemption for citizens of Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic traveling to Vietnam for tourism purposes.

This policy, effective from March 1 to December 31, 2025, applies to all passport holders, provided they meet the entry requirements stipulated under Vietnamese law.

Hang highlighted that the initiative, part of Vietnam’s 2025 tourism stimulus programme, has been warmly welcomed by leaders and representatives of Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visits to these countries.

Vietnam has been actively adopting various measures to attract foreign tourists, enhance the quality of its tourism services, and simplify procedures for foreign nationals. These efforts include revising visa policies to extend validity periods, expanding eligibility for e-visas, and increasing the permitted duration of stay for foreign visitors.
