Vietnam bags six medals at 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad APIO
VOV.VN - All six Vietnamese students participating in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) in Uzbekistan have secured medals, including 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals, reports the Ministry of Education and Training.

All the students are studying at schools for gifted students in the capital city of Hanoi, as well as provinces of Lao Cai, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, and Quang Ninh.
The only gold medal went to Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, an 11th-grade student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
With these results, Vietnam ranked fifth overall, behind China, Russia, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, affirming its leading position in informatics education within Southeast Asia.
APIO 2025, held on May 17-18, attracted 868 contestants from 42 countries and territories doing the tests online. This year’s problems were praised for their creativity and alignment with the format of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), offering multiple flexible and innovative approaches for each task.
