Vietnam Airlines cancels and reschedules flights due to typhoon Fengshen
VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced the cancellation or rescheduling of nearly 20 flights to and from Hue and Da Nang on October 22-23, due to the impact of Typhoon Fengshen.

At least 10 flights will be canceled, and 8 others will have their departure times adjusted. Affected routes include Hanoi – Hue, Hanoi – Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City – Hue, Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang, and Da Nang – Cam Ranh.
Flight numbers and updated schedules are made available in the airline’s official announcement and published on its website.
“In addition, multiple domestic and international flights may experience knock-on delays due to the developments of Typhoon Fengshen. Affected passengers will be supported in accordance with the airline’s policy,” said a Vietnam Airlines representative.
The airline has advised passengers to keep seatbelts fastened at all times during the flight, especially during adverse weather conditions. Proactively fastening seatbelts, even when the seatbelt sign is off, is a key safety measure to minimise risks from turbulence.
Passengers with travel plans during this period are strongly advised to monitor weather updates and follow official information provided by the airline.
In response to the complex developments of Typhoon Fengshen, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has issued an urgent directive, calling on the entire aviation sector to proactively implement preventive measures to ensure the safety of flights, passengers, and airport infrastructure.
Three major airports in central Vietnam - Phu Bai, Da Nang, and Chu Lai - will be directly affected by the storm.
The CAAV has ordered all units to coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect airport infrastructure and communication systems, ensuring any damage or risks are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
Airports have also been directed to implement anti-flooding measures, clear drainage systems, and protect facilities and equipment from storm damage. Efforts should be made to minimise losses and restore airport operations quickly to meet passenger demand.
Typhoon Fengshen is moving toward Central Vietnam and is expected to make landfall on the morning of October 23.
