Vietnam Airlines brings home 350 Vietnamese citizens from Japan
VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on October 14 safely repatriated more than 350 Vietnamese citizens left stranded in Japan due to the impact of the COVID-19.
Passengers on board the repatriation flight were minors under 18, elderly people, pregnant women, sick people, guest workers with expired visas and labour contracts, students without accommodation, and other special cases.
The Vietnamese embassy in Japan worked closely with relevant agencies of the host country to facilitate the citizens’ travel and assist them with necessary procedures before departure.
Vietnam Airlines implemented necessary epidemiological measures during the flight to prevent possible spread of the virus.
All passengers were also examined and quarantined according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control as soon as the plane landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam.
Vietnamese authorities are arranging more repatriation flights to bring home more Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas in accordance with the epidemic situation and isolation capacity in the country.
