Two Vietnamese men arrested for organising illegal exits for Myanmar citizens
VOV.VN - Troops of the Ha Giang provincial Border Guards based at the Lung Cu Border Post said on August 27 that they arrested three Vietnamese citizens for assisting Myanmar citizens to illegally cross the border.
According to details of the case, during their patrol at 20:45 p.m. on August 15, the border guard forces noticed a suspicious Mercedes C320 black car, plated 11A-06734, that was in the process of travelling from Lung Cu Flag Tower to National Highway 4C.
Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered three female suspects, including one Vietnamese and two Myanmar citizens, hidden inside.
At the border post, the driver, Nguyen Duc Thanh, 49, residing in Bao Lac district the northern province of Cao Bang, confessed that he had been hired by an unknown man to transport three women from Cao Bang to Dong Van district in Ha Giang province.
The Vietnamese woman, identified as Pit Thi Xuyen, 20, residing in the central province of Nghe An, admitted that she had agreed to enter China to work following an invitation from her friend named Lan. After that, Thinh picked up Xuyen and the two Myanmar women to Lung Cu commune,
Upon expanding the investigation, the border guards arrested Ly Mi Nhu, 41; Vu Mi So, 28; and Ho Mi Po, 37; all of whom were residing in Lung Cu commune.
They admitted that they were hired by an unknown Chinese person to transport the three women across the border for CNY1,500.
After completing legal procedures, on August 26, Ha Giang provincial Border Guard Command handed over the case to the Ha Giang Provincial Police and co-ordinated efforts with relevant agencies to hand over two female Myanmar citizens to the Myanmar Embassy in Vietnam.
