Two arrested for smuggling drugs from Laos
VOV.VN -Border guards working in Thanh Hoa province have announced the arrest of two Vietnamese drug traffickers operating out of Laos, seizing a large quantity of heroin in the process.
Local police forces successfully caught two Vietnamese suspects red-handed at 9:00 on October 25 as they were in the process of illegally moving drugs through Ma Hac village in Muong Lat district.
The pair were later identified as Thao Xuan Lau, a 34-year-old drug addict, and Mua Thi Dua, 41, both of Ta Com town, Trung Ly commune. Muong Lat district.
Upon conducting a search of the scene, the police were able to seize 2,800 pills of synthetic drugs, 50 grams of heroin, two mobile phones, and a knife.
The suspects later confessed to having illegally entered Laos for the purpose of purchasing a large quantity of drugs which they later planned on selling after smuggling them into Vietnam.
