Traffic accidents decline in all three key indicators in seven months
VOV.VN - Traffic accidents across the country slightly declined in July 2025 compared to the same period last year in terms of the numbers of accidents, fatalities and injuries, according to the National Statistics Office.

Statistics show there were 1,408 traffic accidents happening in July nationwide, resulting in 804 deaths and 959 injuries.
Compared to July 2024, the number of traffic accidents plunged by 21%, the number of deaths fell by 4.9%, and the number of injuries decreased by 27%.
Compared to June 2025, the number of accidents slightly decreased by 0.1%, the number of fatalities dropped by 1.0%, but the number of injured people increased by 2.3%.
In total, the first seven months of the year saw 10,809 traffic accidents occur nationwide, causing 6,101 deaths and 7,205 injuries. On average, 51 accidents happen each day, claiming 29 lives and injuring 34 people.
In seven months, natural disasters left 144 people dead or missing and 100 injured, damaged over 125,000 hectares of rice and subsidiary crops, and destroyed nearly 16,000 houses. The total estimated damage amounted to VND5,614 billion, 2.5 times higher than the same period in 2024.
Also during this period, 1,939 fire and explosion incidents occurred, resulting in 70 deaths, 79 injuries, and property losses of approximately VND179.5 billion, up 13.7% year on year.
