Traffic accidents claim 3,475 lives in the first four months of 2025
VOV.VN - A total of 6,328 traffic accidents occurred nationwide in the first four months of 2025, resulting in 3,475 fatalities and 4,248 injuries, according to the National Traffic Safety Committee.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of accidents decreased by 2,274 (26.44%), fatalities dropped by 235 (6.33%), and injuries fell by 2,452 (36.6%).
Road accidents made up the majority, with 6,267 incidents, 3,430 deaths, and 4,239 injuries. The railways reported 39 accidents, 26 fatalities, and seven injuries, while the waterways saw two incidents, resulting in four deaths.
From March 15 to April 14, the country experienced 1,568 traffic accidents, claiming 860 lives and injuring 1,062 people. This marked a decrease of 439 cases (21.87%), 20 fewer fatalities (2.27%), and 449 fewer injuries (29.72%).
In the aviation sector, from December 16, 2024, to April 15, 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) received 95 mandatory safety reports. These included 24 incidents classified as Level D (risk of safety-threatening events) and 71 incidents classified as Level E (minor incidents with limited safety impact). No incidents were recorded at Level B (substantial safety risk) or Level C (incidents with potential for serious consequences).
