Traffic accidents claim 170 lives over seven days of Tet holiday
VOV.VN - A total of 170 people were killed and 309 injured in 364 traffic accidents nationwide during the seven days from January 25 to January 31 of the Lunar New Year or Tet
The Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police Department reported a 39% decrease in accidents, with 207 cases less, and a 43% drop in fatalities, down by 103 people, compared to the same period last year.
On January 31, or the third day of the first lunar month, a total of 56 traffic accidents were recorded nationwide, killing 33 people and injuring 52 others.
This represents a decrease of 18 accidents, two fewer fatalities, and 11 fewer injuries.
On January 31, the national traffic police reported over 4,814 traffic violations, the seizure of 62 cars and 2,222 motorcycles, and the revocation of 283 driving licenses.
