Top leader sends Mid-Autumn Festival greetings to children
VOV.VN - In the lead-up to the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 that falls on September 17, Party General Secretary and President To Lam has extended his warmest and most heartfelt wishes to all Vietnamese children, both at home and abroad, as well as to foreign children living in Vietnam.
In his letter, To Lam reminded that the Mid-Autumn Festival, a full-moon festival for children, takes place on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. This is a time when children gather with their family and enjoy playing, carrying lanterns, performing lion dances, and sharing mooncakes. It is also a time for listening to stories about the festival, helping to create cherished childhood memories for all.
“I hope the Mid-Autumn Festival brings you more joy, fulfillment, and meaningful experiences, both materially and spiritually, thanks to the care provided by your families, schools, and society,” said the leader.
However, he said this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival may not be as joyful as it is due to the severe impact of natural disasters on many families, villages, and communities. Many children have tragically lost their lives, their loved ones, or their homes, and are living in particularly difficult circumstances.
The leader extended his deepest condolences to the families of those affected by the disasters and hoped that Vietnam would bravely overcome these hardships and losses.
He also suggested that children in flood-affected areas give priority to safety by avoiding danger areas such as rivers, streams, ponds, and lakes, and remembering their parents and teachers’ advice to protect themselves and their friends.
